Fall 2021 Updates
September and October are my favorite months of the year here in the Northeast. The hot humid days are gone, and clear blue skies are here!
I am sure by now most of you are aware, (unless you are new to my work) that we have a little homestead here. When I am not making pottery, I am outdoors growing food or taking care of chickens and bees, or just maintaining our little piece of land in some way.
Life here in during the garden growing season is very busy for me and my spouse. We grow most of our food for the year, which means lots of time processing the food we grow. We stock our freezers, root cellar, and pantry with fruits and veggies that we have dried, canned, or frozen, including chicken that we have raised and lots of honey from our bees. Pottery time for me gets cut in half from early June to late September.
I am now gearing up for holiday sales. The past week I have started making functional goodies for the kitchen, beginning with mugs, which seems to be everyone’s favorite! This coming week I will be making batter bowls, large serving bowls and more soup bowls.
If you are interested in visiting the studio in person or virtually mark your calendar’s for these events.
My usual holiday weekend sale is the second week of December. It will be changed to the first three weekends of December. With all the uncertainty of Covid it's best that I spread it out, so the the studio doesn’t get too crowded during one weekend. The dates are: December 4th-5th, 11th-12th, and 18th-19th.
I really want to have people come to the studio. It's so nice to see my regulars, meet new pottery lovers, and to have that sense of community which is has been severely lacking with the pandemic.
More details to come in November.
