Handmade Hardwood Pottery Tools

When I teach a workshop I bring my pottery tools with me. Students kept asking me if I would sell the wooden tools that I make. So a few years ago I made a few to sell at my workshops. I then decided to make enough for my website shop page and they always sell pretty quickly.

This past summer I had some time on my hands due to hurting my back badly enough that I couldn’t throw pots for a good month… but I could stand in our wood workshop and make pottery tools! These tools are made from re-claimed wood cut-offs from family and friends who make cutting boards, toys and fine furniture. All of the tools are strong durable hardwoods. I make the tools two sided so they can be used for various different purposes on the clay. See the videos below on how they can be used.

You can purchase the tools here at https://www.lucyfagella.com/shop along with the pottery that is available at this time. I should have plenty of tools available for a while, if however they are sold out just get in contact with me and give me a nudge to make more.

After making so many tools this summer I decided it’s time I start branding them. So I got myself a nice wood branding iron from Garrett at MoJo Manufacturing, a small business out in Ohio. https://mojomanufacturing.com/?ref=dxafytvg I designed my logo, (the same one I use to stamp my pots) sent it out to Garrett and had a beautiful branding stamp in a couples of days!

Thanks for taking a look at the videos below, so you can get a few ideas on how to use the tools.

How I use the Gully Tool. These have two different widths on either side.
